Pair Angela Instruments DIY 300B Tube Amp Amplifier Solid Raw Copper And Aluminum Chassis Circa 1991.
Back in the '90s we published some projects for building pretty simple 300B monoblocs in the Angela Instruments Catalog and, later, on our website. These chassis were designed to fit that project but because they are not punched you can build any circuit you want. This sale item consists of two solid copper and aluminum chassis, two perforated bottom plates and four end blocks. The end blocks and bottom plates are bolted to captive threaded inserts with machine screws. Each chassis measures 16&3/8" long X 9&7/8" wide X 3" tall.
Because of the thickness of the copper there is some slight stress cracks on the long bent edges but this is easily removed by filing and sanding prior to finishing. Some light sanding is also required on the top surface. I finished my amps with Sherwin Williams Polane T catalyzed black textured finish because it's tough as nails but you can use any finish you want. If you leave the copper unfinished it will develop a nice patina as the years go by. Tube layout per monoblock is one GZ37 or similar rectifier, one 300B power output triode and one 6SN7GTB front end tube. Finished amp is depicted to show how this project goes together; it is not included in this sale. Upon request we will include a copy of the schematic for this project with your purchase.
Includes the two chassis, two bottom plates and four end blocks.
