Set Of Two Lindy Fralin DynaSonic Alnico Rod Hum Cancelling Pickups

The Lindy Fralin Alnico Rod style pickups set features a large and thick sounding midrange with a top end sparkle. The USA made Alnico 5 magnets give this pickup a dynamic, breathable top end clarity not found in screw pole piece pickups. Clean and articulate when playing without distortion. You'll find that the nuances of your playing will come out as this pickup "breathes more than it's compressed P90 counterpart. With distortion you'll find a smooth, late breakup with a familiar Fender Strat type tone. The midrange of this set is pronounced as well. You'll find that this Alnico Rod version will still sound fat and beefy.

What's the main tonal difference between the Fralin Alnico Rod DynaSonic and the P90 Dynasonic pickups? The Alnico Rod version is more "Strat-like" and clearer sounding. The Hum Cancelling P90 version is slightly louder, darker, thicker and quicker to 'break up'.

The Fralin DynaSonic pickups are direct replacements for the old DeArmond style pickups found in vintage and reissue Gretsch guitars. Two coil design for hum-free performance. Coils wound with 42 gauge single poly nylon insulated pure copper wire. Bridge pickup 10K, neck pickup 8.5K. 500K pots are recommended. USA made Alnico 5 magnets. String spacing is 49.5mm Two conductor leads for wiring versatility. Polished nickel surround rings with white top cover plates. Mounting screws are included.

Mounting rings measure 3.365" X 1.56" X .485" height. Designed as a direct replacement for DeArmond pickups.

The Fralin DynaSonic set sounds best when each pickup is properly shimmed to achieve an optimum height below the strings. How far away from the strings does the pickup need to be? Push your Low E String down at the highest fret. Measure from the top of the pole piece to the bottom of the string. Ideal starting location should be 1/8? on the bass string, and 1/16? on the treble string, when the High E string is pushed down at highest fret.
