Alps Blue Velvet Pots For Audio Gear

1. Alps Blue Velvet dual/stereo 100K audio taper volume control pot for high quality audio . Solid aluminum 6mm diameter shaft fits vintage and new USA knobs designed for 1/4"  shaft USA pots: I tried a bunch of old DAKA-WARE, Fender and other set screw fixing knobs and found that they fit exactly. Six connection lugs,  special ALPS audio/log taper. Approx. 29/32" long solid shaft can be custom cut to length desired with a simple Exacto hobby saw. 25mm wide, 25mm high, approx. 25mm deep (measured from the round mounting extension of the diecast face near the threads to the back of the blue plastic case...), Designed for PC or 'point to point' installations; it's a bit tight but you can wrap and solder your wires to the silver plated lugs for 'point to point' circuits. These Alps pots track about as good as the discontinued Black Beauty version, much better than 'generic' volume pots. This is the 100K pot we now recommend for our web site hi-fi projects. We just bought a lot consisting of thousands of New Old Stock Clarostat sealed nickel case pots! Almost all are are two watt rating. Most are good old he-man molded carbon except for the pricier and supposedly longer lasting conductive plastic "380" series designated pots. All clean stock in original factory individual cartons! Below find a small selection of this inventory with some preliminary description; we hope to add to our product listing and description in the very near future. We're still trying to sort out the Clarostat product codes indicating taper, etc. Most of the pots are marked "S"; this is linear taper. These pots appear to have been manufactured by Clarostat in the USA; many are stamped "MADE IN USA". All of these pots have a 1&1/16" diameter nickel plated sealed case, three solder lug terminals, 3/8" long threaded bushing for standard size fastening nut. All feature superb build quality. Most of the pots have a standard 1/4" diameter solid shaft for Fender style set screw knobs. Some pots have a very short nut locking screwdriver adjust shaft similar to those found on hum balance and bias pots and clearly described as such. Mounting hardware is included. The Clarostats are fine quality pots for high end guitar amps, guitar effects pedals, hi-fi and studio gear, test equipment, etc. Quantities of almost all values are very limited so buy early for best selection.
