Fralin Pickups For Telecasters
1. Lindy Fralin
Broadcaster Hybrid Telecaster Pickups Set
Super Deal! Vintage winding. Set of two hand wound pickups (one
bridge,
one neck...) brand new in the box. This set is one of Lindy's personal
favorites for Telecasters and mine as well. If you dig the sound of
early Roy Buchanan, early Danny Gatton and other country influenced
Telecaster roadhouse vituosos as much as I do, this is about as good as
it gets. Imagine the best '53 Tele you ever heard straight into an old
tube amp and you're there. The bridge pickup has all .632" height
'level pole piece' magnets except for a slightly higher .650" D string
magnet for better string balance. In my opinion, bridge pickups like
this one work best with 9" or greater radius fingerboards. If you've
got a Tele with a rounder board, say in the high 7s, you might want to
consider a set with more magnet staggering like Fralin's "Stock"
Telecaster set. Other bridge pickup features include black fibreboard
coil form, waxed string coil wrap, copper clad steel bottom plate,
careful wax potting to reduce microphonics. and vintage style cloth
covered output wires. The neck pickup has a traditional chrome plated
cover. By the way, I was never much of a fan of the stock Telecaster
neck pickup until I put a set of Broadcaster Hybrids in my Tele. It's
amazing! The Fralin neck pickup has a somewhat darker than stock,
velvety sound like a good jazz guitar pickup. You'll find yourself
using it often. This set is RW/RP (reverse wind/reverse magnetic
polarity) for hum cancellation in the middle position (both pickups
combined in parallel) with a three-way pickup selector switch and for
optimum compatibility with those cool Fender four-way Tele switches
(the fourth position allows a series connection between the two pickups
for a higher output, thicker, slightly dirty sound...). There is a
separate ground wire for isolation of the neck pickup cover; this
simply connects to the back of one of the pots where your other circuit
ground wires meet, same as found on a Fender Texas Tele Special rhythm
pickup, The bridge pickup is wound clockwise, the neck pickup is wound
counterclockwise and the two pickups have an opposing magnetic

Telecaster Pickups Set Super Deal!
Set consists
of one bridge pickup and one neck pickup, brand new in the original
factory box. Stock vintage output with tons of classic Tele twang. If
you dig Don Rich, Mike Bloomfield (listen to those early electric Dylan
studio tracks), Robbie Robertson, Steve Cropper and other great '60s
Tele players, this set delivers. Also a good choice if you use effects;
hotter pickups can sound muddy through pedals. KILLER upgrade for
'60s-'80s Teles with thin, wimpy or 'ice picky' sounding pickups. Both
pickups feature black fibreboard coil forms, alnico V magnets, vintage
style enameled magnet wire and Fralin's world class hand craftsmanship.
The bridge pickup features staggered alnico magnets for optimum string
balance and note definition with vintage radius (7&1/2"-8&1/2"
or so...) fingerboards. Other bridge pickup features include 6.6K DC
resistance for robust output with sparkling highs, white string coil
wrapping, careful wax potting for reduction of microphonics, copper
clad steel bottom plate and cloth covered output leads. The neck pickup
sports a traditional chrome plated cover and is wound to approx. 7K DC
resistance. This set has an RW/RP relationship (bridge wound clockwise,
neck wound counterclockwise, reversed magnetic polarity...) for hum
cancelling when used in combination (typically position two on a CRL
1452 three-way pickup selector switch). This set also works great with
a Fender/Oak/CRL four-way pickup selector switch if you isolate the
rhythm pickup cover by cutting the normal link between the cover
mounting tab and the black output wire and run a separate ground wire
from the mounting tab to the back of the pot where the other ground
wires are soldered. We include hookup diagrams for both three-way and
four-way switches. By the way, the four-way switch allows you to
combine the pickups in series for a thicker, louder, slightly more
distorted sound (I generally wire my Teles this way but Lindy finds
this hookup TOO dirty...). Good mounting hardware is included. BONUS!

Special Pickup Set For Telecaster! Set consists of two pickups
(one
bridge, one neck...) brand new in the box! Hotter than stock output
with killer tone for modern blues stylists! The bridge pickup is wound
to around 7.34K with Polynylon insulated wire, designed for an
aggressive sound with just a bit of grit. Bridge pickup employs Lindy's
special magnet staggering; the 'D' string magnet height is .710", the
'G' is .680", all others are .650". This staggering is especially
effective with a fingerboard radius in the mid 7s to the mid 8s. Other
