Chief Etc. Vintage New Old Stock Signal Capacitors
These molded
tubular '50s-'60s vintage capacitors
feature paper and/or mylar and aluminum foil construction, with axial
leads.
Excellent for restoring older tube guitar and hi-fi amps, etc. Note
that
most vintage signal caps have a band printed on one end or the other
indicating
the "outer foil". These caps are non-polarized and will work when
hooked
up in either direction. For some radio frequency applications, it is
preferred
to orient the "outer foil" towards ground, for shielding purposes. In
most
audio circuits this is not an issue, although some may differ. We
encourage
you to experiment with orientation and reach your own conclusions. Many
modern signal capacitors are wound in a way that makes the issue of
orientation
irrelevant, or so several manufacturers have told us. Currently we have

AXIAL LEADS. THESE CAPACITORS FEATURE GREASY OIL IMPREGNATED PAPER
AND/OR
MYLAR/PAPER DIELECTRIC WITH ALUMINUM PLATES, SAME AS FOUND IN MANY
